With quad-band-notched characteristic, a compact ultrawideband (UWB) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is introduced in the paper. The UWB?MIMO system has two similar monopole elements and occupies 30 × 45 mm. By inserting two L-shaped slots, CSRR and C-shaped stubs, four notched bands are achieved (3.25?3.9, 5.11?5.35, 5.5?6.06, and 7.18?7.88 GHz) to filter WiMAX, lower WLAN, upper WL

A 4?8 GHz ultra wide band microstrip array antennas with improved gain for weather Radar applications was designed and fabricated. The microstrip radiating elements of the proposed array antennas are powered using a T-junction power divider with quarter wave-transformer impedance for a best matching. The design of this array antennas is based on the geometry of a linear array antennas well studied

Voltage doubler rectifiers are usually applied to systems with high voltage and low current requirement. An X band voltage doubler rectifier has been developed with 72% conversion efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, the obtained rectifying efficiency is the maximum reported to date at X band with Schottky diodes. The working characteristics of the diodes in the voltage doubler rectifier are

In this paper, compact single-feed dual-band antennas for different wireless applications are proposed. First, a dual-band antenna with a comparatively large frequency ratio of 2.58 is designed. Then, a novel dual-band antenna is introduced in order to enhance the upper frequency band. The technique consists of modifying the feed line structure, which leads to a 9.23% of impedance bandwidth at the

In this paper, an asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS)-fed quad-band monopole antenna for the global positioning system (GPS), wireless local area network (WLAN), and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) applications is proposed. It is composed of an F-shaped monopole and a partial ground plane, which are both printed on one side of a low-cost FR4 substrate with a compact volume of 4

In this paper, a novel compact microstrip low-pass filter (LPF) with ultra wide stop band and sharp roll off, is proposed. In the proposed structure, a high impedance transmission line is loaded by compact microstrip resonant cells, which results in ultra wide stopband. The ?3 dB cut-off frequency of filter is 1.5 GHz and the maximum insertion loss is <0.1 dB in the passband. The proposed LPF pres

A novel small-size filtering power divider (PD) featured four-function integration is proposed. These four integrated functions are high-selectivity filtering, inherent DC block, high all-frequency isolation, and high-power applications. Using single-layer planar circuit technology, this proposed PD can be implemented easily. The measured results of a prototype show that it can operate at 2 GHz wi

In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) filter with a notch band using T-shaped step impedance resonator loaded with cross-shaped open stubs has been presented. The notch band is formed by utilizing intrinsic zero. The characteristics of the new quad-mode resonator have been analyzed using odd-even mode analysis method. It can be shown that it is the intrinsic zero that generates the notch band. In

In this paper a new design of compact single layered triangular slotted microstrip patch antenna with spur lines and strip loading is proposed. It has been experimentally investigated that strip loading causes more size reduction where spur lines and triangular slot introduces multi frequency operation of microstrip patch antenna. The size reduction has been found to be 87% for the proposed antenn

Dielectric stepped-index flat lens antennas for operation at 12 GHz are presented. A brick-shaped dielectric with a permittivity profile optimized for focusing is sandwiched between the metallic plates of an open-ended parallel-plate waveguide. A tapered slot antenna is placed at the focal point of the dielectric lens, thereby creating antennas with high directivity of 16.8 and 15.8 dBi, respectiv
