MICROWAVE DIELECTRIC RESONATOR DISCRIMINATOR OSCILLATOR

Author: C. Buoli, G. Mora, T. Turillo

MICROWAVE DIELECTRIC RESONATOR DISCRIMINATOR OSCILLATOR C. Buoli* - G. Mora * - T. Turillo * ABSTRACT A new method (**) to improve the phase noise near the carrier of microwave frequency sources, particularly suitable for Low Capacity Digital Radio (LCDR) systems, is here presented. This is obtained including in a DRO a frequency discriminator, realized by means of the same oscillator cavity. The

A 2 GHz QUADRATURE MIXER REALIZED AS ONE-SIDED MIC ON FR-4 SUBSTRATE

Author: A.P. Dekker, 0.K.A. Pöllänen

A 2 GHz QUADRATURE MIXER REALIZED AS ONE-SIDED MIC ON FR-4 SUBSTRATE A P Dekker* ABSTRACT and 0 K A Pollanen** A 2 GHz quadrature mixer is described, realized in true microstrip technique on a cheap FR-4 substrate. Phase and amplitude errors are less than 5° and 1 dB and LO-RF isolation better than 30 dB in a 400 MHz bandwidth. The mixer can e.g. be used as a QPSK modulator and demodulator.

PSEUDOMORPHIC HJ-FET APPLICATIONS TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER FOR THE 38GHz-BAND Tomoya Kaneko1, EOOFuruyama2, Hisasuke Sei1, Kenzo Wada2, Motoo Mizumurat, Naomi Shiga2, Jun Mizoel, Shuuichi KOkubun2, Kouji Nemoto2 ABSTRACT We have developed transmitter and receiver RF circuit in 38GHz band for FSK radio communication system, where all the RF active circuits are constructed by multi-functional

DEEP SPACE RECEIVER FOR CASSINI-HUYGENS RADIO LINK

Author: G. Boscagli, M.C. Comparini

DEEP SPACE RECEIVER FOR CASSINI-HUYGENS G.Boscagli *,M. C. Comparini * ABSTRACT RADIO LINK The CASSINI-HUYGENS mission is a deep space mission for the exploration and the study of the atmosphere of Titan. The combined Orbiter-Probe spacecraft will reach the Saturn system about 8.5 years after the launch. At that time the Probe will be separated and its mission will start transmitting scientific

22 GHZ BAND DOWNCONVERTERS FOR DBS

Author: C.D. Howson, C. Guo, G. Haquet, M. Fujimoto

22 GHZ BAND DOWNCONVERTERS FOR DBS C.D. Howson, C. Guo, G. Haquet, M. Fujimoto * ABSTRACT Low-noise downconverters for 22GHz DBS (Direct Broadcasting Satellite) reception have been developed using low-cost components that are already marketed for 12GHz DBS. Two topologies using a 10GHz LO (Local Oscillator), one with a subharmonically pumped mixer and the other with double frequency conversion,

ELECTROMAGNETICS IN NOVEL ISOTROPIC MEDIA

Author: I.V. Lindell

BUMC82.TBX ELECTROMAGNETICS IN NOVEL ISOTROPIC MEDIA I V LindelP ABSTRACT Basic relations of electromagnetic fields in bi-isotropic media are briefly discussed. Such media are more general than the ordinary isotropic dielectric and magnetic media because they can couple electric and magnetic polarizations. Bi-isotropic media have interesting possible applications and the main problem today l

Author: A. Jeleski

MICROWAVE RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY IN EASTERN CENTRAL EUROPE. A. Jelenski * ABSTRACT The organisation of research and industry in the planified economy environment, giving the historical background to the actual situation is briefly outlined in first part of this paper. In the second part more important results of microwave research and products of microwave industry in Czechoslovakia Hungary, and

COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AT MILLIMETER WAVES

Author: B. Rembold

COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AT MILLIMETER WAVES B. Rembold Abstract 1 The technical advantages of mm-waves for short range and high data rate radio communications are well known: The availability of bandwidth, the robustness against interception and jamming, and the possibility of repeated frequence reuse after considerably small distances given by a high basic path attenuation and by certain propagat
