Cuboidal quad-port UWB-MIMO antenna with WLAN rejection using spiral EBG structures

Author: Sumon Modak, Taimoor Khan

This study presents a novel configuration of a cuboidal quad-port ultra-wideband multiple-input and multiple-output antenna with WLAN rejection characteristics. The designed antenna consists of four F-shaped elements backed by a partial ground plane. A 50 ? microstrip line is used to feed the proposed structure. The geometry of the suggested antenna exhibits an overall size of 23 × 23 × 19 mm, and

Design of multiple transmission zeros-enabled compact broadband BPFs based on microstrip-to-CPW transition technology

Author: Abu Nasar Ghazali, Mohd Sazid

In this paper, we present a miniaturized ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with multiple transmission zeros (TZs), which is based on transition technology of microstrip with short-circuited coplanar waveguide (CPW). The ground plane of the BPF contains a multiple mode resonator (MMR)-based CPW which is capacitively linked through the dielectric to two open-circuited microstrip lines on th

A compact dual-band D-CRLH-based antenna with self-isolation functionality

Author: Mahmoud A. Abdalla, Mohamed El Atrash, Ahmed A. Abdel Aziz, Mohamed I. Abdelnaser

This paper presents a compact dual-band filtering antenna without extra employing of filter structures. The antenna is designed using a planar dual-composite right/left-handed (D-CRLH) transmission line unit cell, where the filtering function is achieved through current cancellation between the D-CRLH resonators. The antenna is designed to function at 3.0 and 5.1 GHz, which can serve different WLA

Compact stepped slot antenna for ultra-wideband applications

Author: B. Hammache, A. Messai, I. Messaoudene, T. A. Denidni

In this paper, a compact stepped slot antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is proposed. A very small size and UWB bandwidth operation are achieved by integrating a stepped slot in the back side of the antenna. This stepped slot is excited by using a 50 ?-feed line in the top side of the antenna. The antenna is characterized by an impedance bandwidth between 3.05 GHz and more than 12 GHz.

Miniaturized triple-band monopole antenna loaded with a via-less MTM for 3G, WIMAX, and WLAN applications

Author: Mohammadsadegh Kasmaei, Ehsan Zareian-Jahromi, Raheleh Basiri, Valiollah Mashayekhi

In this paper, a tri-band metamaterial (MTM) loaded compact monopole antenna is proposed. In the first step of design procedure, a rectangular monopole antenna is improved by replacing the corresponding rectangular patch with a ring resonator. As a result, the first obtained operating frequency is decreased from 2.95 to 2.46 GHz. Then, this operating frequency is reduced to 2.02 GHz utilizing an M

A mathematical model for sidelobe level optimization of variable inclination continuous transverse stub antenna

Author: Kexin Wang, Xue Lei, Jun Gao, Tianpeng Li, Mingyang Zhao

A mathematical model of variable inclination continuous transverse stub (VICTS) antenna for low sidelobe design is proposed in this paper. VICTS antenna is an antenna with continuous transverse stubs on the parallel-plate waveguide and additional branches attached to the transverse stubs to generate radiation. The antenna using this technique has high aperture efficiency and keeps a significant so

Stacked patch antenna with wider impedance bandwidth and high interport isolation for 2.4 GHz IBFD transceiver

Author: Haq Nawaz, Ahmad Umar Niazi

This paper reports a bi-port, wideband, parasitic-fed, single/shared patch antenna with enhanced interport isolation for 2.4 GHz in-band full duplex (IBFD) applications. The employed parasitic feeding provides comparatively the wider impedance bandwidth and better gain for the presented antenna. The improved self-interference cancellation (SIC) levels across the required bandwidth are obtained thr

Inline pseudoelliptic waveguide filters using asymmetric Iris coupled transverse rectangular ridge resonators

Author: Muhammad Anis Chaudhary, Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed

In this work, a new structure for the implementation of inline pseudoelliptic waveguide filters using non-resonating modes, based on asymmetric iris coupled transverse rectangular ridge resonators has been proposed. The basic structure is comprised of a ridge that is always centered and transverse to the waveguide center axis and has the ability to create a transmission zero (TZ) above or below th
