Broadband frequency reconfigurable printed transceivers for microwave imaging systems

Author: Ankita Malhotra, Ananjan Basu

In this paper, we propose a novel method for obtaining wideband spectral information of the target in microwave imaging systems by using broadband frequency reconfigurable printed transceivers. The proposed transceiver is composed of two embedded stacked microstrip antenna configurations operating in C-band (5.5?8.5 GHz) and X-band (8.5?11.5 GHz) with each having 3 GHz bandwidth. The transceiver s

Selectivity improvement of interdigital filtering-antenna using different orders for 5 G application

Author: Dwi Astuti Cahyasiwi, Emilia Roza, Mohammad Mujirudin, Nusriyati Mahmuda Nashuha, Fitri Yuli Zulkifli, Eko Tjipto Rahardjo

In this paper, filter and antenna integration is studied to produce a compact device for wireless front-end equipment. Filtering antennas are advanced due to their selectivity performance, represented by a flat gain response. Two filtering antennas are proposed to improve the selectivity using different orders. The first antenna is based on second-order filter and the other on third-order filter.

A robust and efficient wall parameter estimation approach for through wall radar

Author: Akhilendra Pratap Singh

In through-wall radar system, the wall parameters, including permittivity, and wall thickness are of crucial importance for locating targets precisely. Recently, to obtain a quick and accurate estimation of wall parameters, an approach based on machine learning was introduced. However, these approaches are less reliable as only simulations results are presented. One of the major concerns with mach

Exploration of adulteration in common raw spices using antenna-based sensor

Author: Nitika, Jaswinder Kaur, Rajesh Khanna

The ability of food products to store and dissipate electromagnetic energy is determined by the material's dielectric properties. In relation to this phenomenon, a non-destructive technique is presented for food evaluation based on the shift in resonant frequency and reflection coefficient magnitude value of the proposed slot-loaded microstrip line-fed antenna-based sensor caused by the change in

Design of a flower shaped compact printed antenna for ultra-wideband communication

Author: Manohar Golait, Mahendra Gaikwad, Balasaheb H. Patil, Manish Varun Yadav, Sudeep Baudha, Lokesh Kumar Bramhane

In this communication, a compact flower shaped printed antenna for ultra-wideband communication is proposed. The ?flower-shaped? structure is capable of transmitting UWB-band signals. The designed antenna exhibits a return loss ranging from 2.3 to 11 GHz with an 8.7 GHz central frequency and has 130% relative bandwidth. The suggested design includes a patch in the shape of a flower with several sl

Frequency comb MIMO OFDM radar demonstrator with high unambiguous velocity

Author: Benjamin Nuss, Lucas Giroto de Oliveira, Thomas Zwick

Digital radar waveforms such as orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) often have the disadvantage that they require high sampling rates if fine range resolutions have to be achieved. The frequency comb OFDM radar scheme offers a possibility to overcome this drawback and to improve the range resolution without increasing the sampling rate. Simultaneously, the high unambiguous velocity,

Compact hand-guided 3D scanning terahertz sensor platforms with 3D-printed aspherical telecentric f-? lens

Author: Shiva Mohammadzadeh, Raphael Hussung, Andreas Keil, Sven Leuchs, Christian Krebs, Dirk Nüßler, Jörg Seewig, Georg von Freymann, Fabian Friederich

We report on the development of a handheld three-dimensional (3D) terahertz scanning system with an aspherical telecentric 3D-printed f-? lens using selective laser sintering. The lens covers a broader scan line of 50 mm with its larger aperture, compared to the 20 mm range in our initial work, which was presented at the European Microwave Week 2021. In order to evaluate the adaptability of the op
